A tour of the Okanagan Valley’s cooler climate wineries located in Lake Country.
Visiting any of these four wineries is always a delightful wine touring experience. Guests always enjoy the winery tour at Gray Monk Estate Winery, the oldest family owned and operated winery in B.C. and winner of the “Generations Award for the Family Winery of Distinction” for North America. After the winery tour, taste their flavourful wines and take time to shop in the new and spectacular wine boutique which overlooks Okanagan Lake and the rugged landscape of the Okanagan Valley. We also stop at the delightful family owned Arrowleaf Cellars to taste their clean, crisp, cool climate whites and barrel aged reds and learn how the Okanagan “terroir” creates superb vintages. The winery is named after the beautiful Arrowleaf Balsamroot wildflower which adorns Okanagan hillsides in the spring. Visit one of the newest wineries on the Northern Bench, Intrigue Wines, a boutique estate winery known for its hand-crafted award winning wines. Visit either the Mediterranean style winery, Ex Nihilo Vineyards, or the family owned and operated Ancient Hill Winery. At Ex Nihilo the owners have succeeded in fulfilling their dream on a steep 10-acre property. The name, Ex Nihilo, means “out of nothing”, and the owners truly have a story to tell about how the soil, climate and steep slopes of this beautiful property has created their gold awarded wines. At Ancient Hill the wines are made entirely from grapes grown in their own vineyard and processed on-site in their European style winery.
On the tour with a lunch stop, taste the culinary creations of Executive Chef Siever as you dine at the Grapevine Restaurant overlooking Gray Monk’s peaceful vineyards and panoramic views of Okanagan Lake.
